What a difference

9 months makes!!!

Our first glimpse of Jia - exactly 9 months ago today!

Jia - 4 days after arriving 'home'!

Just a few nights ago the weather was beautiful and we took Jia for a bike ride!

She waved at everyone on the walking trail

I love this picture!  The bike is leaning one way, and Jia... the other way!

See ya later!

I want to invite you on a journey....

If you have a free hour, I want to invite you to watch this video.  If you don't have a free hour, clear your schedule and watch this video.
It comes with a warning: If you believe the bible, this video will radically change your life.

"God measures the integrity of our faith, by our concern for the poor."

Amish Grace

Ya'll are NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!!  My little 'ole blog... no, not Journey to Jia, but an even little'r 'old blog has been read by a member of the Lifetime family.  It's a blog I began to follow a weekly biblestudy I'm in and the poor little thing has been neglected fiercly as of late.  Well not anymore!
Today I got an email from a Lifetime rep telling me about a new movie coming up on Lifetime about the shooting at the Amish school in Pennsylvania a few years back.  She thought I would like to help spread the word on my blog and gave me a code for previewing it.  Say whhhaaa???
I am a big lifetime fan and you can bet I'll be watching it.  It's gonna be one of those that will make you question everything you think you know about yourself.  I can't wait.
Here's the synopsis she sent me and the preview clip.  You can bet we'll be discussing it after the premier.

The peaceful Amish community of Nickel Mines is forever changed when a gunman senselessly takes the lives of five girls in a schoolhouse shooting before taking his own life.

What transpires afterward takes the community by storm, as the media descend on the town and criticize its Amish leaders for their notion of unconditional forgiveness of the shooter and their outreach of support to his widow, Amy Roberts (Tammy Blanchard). Devastated by her daughter’s death, Ida Graber (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) finds herself struggling with her community’s belief in the transcending power of forgiveness. Deeply conflicted and unable to forgive the gunman and his family, Ida is tempted to leave the only life she’s ever known before re-embracing her faith.

The movie is having its world television premiere Sunday, March 28 at 8PM EST/ 5pm PST on Lifetime Movie Network.

Be sure and mark your calendars!  Also, it has Kimberly Williams Paisley in it!  I love her!

Momma's Big Helper

A friend at work asked me to make her daughters first birthday cake this weekend.
Earlier this week, I had some help mixing up the cakes to decorate.

While I was working on this, this morning I needed something to entertain Jia

These guys were playing Wii and weren't sharing with the 4 year old

So momma frosted up an extra cake and let her have at it

Jia is really paying attention to the details

Everything has to be just right

Especially the taste

Now, a little more stuff on top and....

Wa-La!  A 'Cake by Jia' to go with the 'Cake by Joy'!

Happy 1st Birthday Adalynn!!
